Atlanta Mentors program is an all inclusive kink education group.

Atlanta Mentors is not a dating, hook-up, one night stand, swinger, sex, online-domination, nor a pro-domme services club or group.

Atlanta Mentors program prohibits any sexual contact between Apprentices and Mentors, Presenters, and Board Members during the duration of the program.

Participants must be least 21 years of age and above for participation.

Participants must be respectful of others lifestyle choices, practices, kinks, and fetishes.

Cost: The non-refundable Apprentice registration donation is $TBA per person.
This is applied to the costs of space rental, CPR/First Aid/DM training, graduation, printed material, and other admin costs. We are fully transparent with our costs and expenses. Details are available upon request.

Apprentice’s Role:
  • Read the recommended reading list before class begins
    • The New Topping Book by by Janet W. Hardy and Dossie Easton
    • The New Bottoming Book by Janet W. Hardy and Dossie Easton
    • Real Service by Joshua Tenpenny and Raven Kaldera
  • Attend the orientation and present an brief introduce and lifestyle background
  • Attend all eight (8) hr days, Saturday 9AM-5PM and Sunday 10AM-5PM, for all six (6) training weekends
  • Complete all assigned class and Mentor homework on time
  • Complete four (4) hours of lifestyle community volunteer work
  • Meet the three (3) assigned Mentors as many times as is necessary to achieve the common goal by mutually agreed upon communication method: face to face, email, phone, video conference, etc
  • Attend the mandatory classes:
    • Orientation
    • Dungeon Monitor
    • CPR & First Aid training
      • Provide current proof of CPR/First Aid certification if you do not wish to participate in this training class
  • Sexual or romantic play between Apprentice AND any member of Atlanta Mentors is prohibited until after graduation
Mentor’s Role:
A mentor is a person who is experienced or knowledgeable in particular area(s) and chooses to share that with others whether one on one or in a group setting. Being a Mentor is not a relationship, a power exchange, or role-playing. Both parties are equals; one is not Dominant and the other submissive. A Mentor engages in teaching and sharing experience. There is no fee to be a Mentor. Mentors are required to:
  • Attend the mandatory Orientation
    • Present a brief introduction and background in the lifestyle
  • Meet the three (3) assigned Apprentices as many times as is necessary to achieve the common goal by mutually agreed upon communication method: face to face, email, phone, video conference, etc
  • Sexual or romantic play between Mentor AND any member of Atlanta Mentors is prohibited until after graduation

Atlanta Mentors Curriculum

Program Levels Offered:

101 Program Format: This is a skills based program with hands-on practice sessions. For example, you watch a class on flogging. Then with consent, the class takes turns practicing on each other or with their plus-one. The curriculum also includes topics on self journey and identification, negotiations, relationships, dynamics, protocols, toy bags, etc.

201 Program Format: This is a classroom based program with panels and group discussions. The curriculum also includes topics on self journey, contracts, service, community building, formal service, long term relationships, etc.

Recommended reading list for Apprentices:

In order to make sure all Apprentices are familiar with basic terms and beginner information we recommend the following reading materials before entering the program:

  3. Real Service by Joshua Tenpenny and Raven Kaldera

Orientation: Orientation is mandatory for Apprentices and Mentors. Presenters do not need to attend. First, brief introductions and backgrounds in the lifestyle are presented by Apprentices, Mentors, and Board Members. Then expectations and responsibilities are reviewed. Finally, orientation paperwork will be completed and signed. 

When possible, Mentor/Apprentice pairings will be distributed at orientation. This is an opportunity to socialize and become acquainted. The Apprentice and Mentor one on one training begins at orientation and ends at graduation.

August, September, & October: The Atlanta Mentors program begins with group learning consisting of core lessons that focus on exploring and defining oneself within the BDSM community. All Apprentices will be Dungeon Monitor, CPR, and First Aid certified during this time.

November & December: Due to winter obligations the program does not meet during these months.

January, February, & March: During this time, the program continues to teach the core curriculum, hands-on classes, panels, and more.

One on One Mentoring:
  • Each Mentor/Apprentice pairing can meet as many times as desired during the mentoring period.
  • It is permitted and encouraged, if all parties choose to extend this relationship after the program ends.
  • At least one face to face meeting is required.
    • After that, video conference, phone, and/or email are accepted forms of communication.
  • It is the Apprentices’ responsibility to contact the Mentor and pursue a meeting.
  • When the Apprentice demonstrates the skills they requested to learn, the Mentor is able to authorize the mentoring was successful.
  • If meeting off-site or sharing a meal, neither party is expected to pay the tab for the other person.
How do I appy?
  • Fill out the appropriate application
  • Board Members will review the application and contact the applicant with an approval or decline
  • Apprentices will then be invited to pay the non-refundable registration donation.
    • This secures the Apprentice’s spot in the next class.
    • Class size is capped at twenty five (25) Apprentices
